Wolves and Whipped Cream at Hallow's Cove Author Ash Raven

Book Review

5 out of 5 stars!

"I will prove to them all my art career is serious, and something I want to do for the rest of my life. Nobody will know who I am and nobody will look at me differently. This is my chance for my talent to shine unburdened." - Roan

Roan's done with London and finding out she's still been under her mum's thumb! She hops on a plane and heads to Hallow's Cove where a new job is ready for her. One that will prove to everyone that she's serious about this endeavor and it isn't some silly little hobby! The Art Centre in Hallow's Cove will be her fresh start and catalyst for a hopefully long career. But Roan isn't used to small towns were the gossip train runs wild, and her family's titles and wealth has been found out. . .

She tries to ignore the rumors and the sinking feeling that this may have all been a huge mistake. Luckily, she's already made friends within the community and caught the eyes of two Wolven men. Two wolves who state she's their Omega and they'd like to court her?!! Maybe life in this smalltown is about to turn around for her!

"“Steal anything you like,” I blurt out. My wallet, my pants, my heart." - Mitch

This review is hard to write because there's so much, I want to say but don't want my review to be longer than the actual read! I love this series because it features different authors, and you get to meet them and their writing styles! This is my first read from Ash and I will definitely be reading more from them! I didn't expect to cry as much as I did with this read!

"Every painting I create, a little piece of my soul is mixed with the oils and canvas. I can’t just give up on all those little parts of me." - Roan

That above statement is why AI will never take over for humans in the creative world! I've read many books, and I can feel a piece of the author's souls within. Some reads I feel it more strongly than others regardless there is always a piece there! This read felt like a large part of Ash's soul was within. I also just really connected with this book!

Roan, I wanted to climb into the book and hug! I went through a lot of similar things that she did and some of the same heartaches. Cutting cords and walking away from things hurts regardless of how it's done. Roan's parents are horrible, and her mum takes every opportunity to do digs at Roan and her artwork. I'm proud that Roan didn't shut down or leave her art behind. Instead, she chased after it determined to never let anyone take it from her!

I loved the two Wolven men and non cliche tropes we got with them! Clay and Mitch both pushing forty and not able to do things they could when they were twenty. I adored the fact that Clay is an Alpha, but he doesn't have the eighteen pack and body builder physique. He's a baker and very much enjoys eating what he makes! Mitch is the fun Beta with dramatic, sarcastic moments that made me laugh. I loved their dynamic and the non-sexual, intimate moments the two had together. Both wanting an Omega to complete their trio but also scared that it will hurt them.

Do read through the CWs. This book does contain language throughout, there's intense moments of emotions, feelings of failure/self-doubt, mental breakdowns, and more. Small town and the gossip/rumor mill that hurts Roan a little. I don't think it's talked about enough but when you choose to cut off from family or parents there's a grieving period. Mention of past manipulation and parental trauma. Current parental manipulation and showing of what lengths they will go through to get what they want. . . Moments of waiting for the last shoe to drop so you can beat yourself up with it.

This read just really got to me and my past experiences! Great writing to invoke such deep emotions! I promise it has so many wonderful healing moments, growth, found family, and a beautiful ending! I respected an interaction between Roan and another member of the town toward the end. How a truce was met but neither were just instantly hugging and declaring a grand friendship.

""Just ’cause fate matched us together, don’t mean we’re instantly perfect.”"

I respected this twist and take on fated mates. Dynamics changing a bit and all of them trying to figure out what it means to have an Omega within the trio. Roan adjusting to the new lifestyle and being an Omega. Understanding what Wolven packs are about and what roles they all play. And not in a BDSM lifestyle way. Wolven packs are more primal and instinctual based. We do get very spicy scenes with MM, MFM, and MMF! The homework Roan got sent home with is hilarious and I actually need to redo that test!

This book doesn't spoil any of the other stories! We do get cameos, and I love how Barnaby and Maisie are a little more involved with this installment! Barnaby's actually coming out of his shell more and I think he secretly loves all the new residents! Roan rising higher up on his list, plus Maisie approves of Roan! I want to move to Hallow's Cove and glue myself to Roan! Drawing and laughing together and definitely getting a tattoo with her!

I have to stop! Enjoy this read that has so much healing, three POVs, wonderful moments, tears, and blueberry treats! Don't forget to give the author some stars!
